Progress or Sin ???

Lisa is sitting here resting in a chair by me while Tyler plays with his hot wheels. I read your blogs to Lisa and Mom. Then I invited Lisa to make an entry - - - can you believe it??? - she asked me to type it for her!!!

Mom said to tell you that Lisa and Tyler made a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting yesterday for Michael's birthday!!!

Now, I ask you: "Is that progress, or is it sin?"

I admit: I loved it even though it greatly increased the joint pain last night and still today. We all loved it. I wanted to snack on it this morning but exercised great self-control while moving slower because of last night's indulgence. As proof of Mom's love for me, she put the rest of it in the freezer for another time.

Lisa is dictating now:

Lisa and Ben are entertaining and making counter offers on the sale of their home in Shreveport. We are stressed and worried but happy to have a bite. It has been 2-3 months with little activity. The downturn in home sales has hit Shreveport real hard. Because we bought it as a fixer-upper, we should still make some profit, but not at all what we had hoped for when we bought it. Ben worked hard at the beginning and then again lately fixing it up for us and then for the sale.

Lisa said to tell you that Ben is a good person who has changed a lot and is doing really well. She is happy for him (and her). The network of the family, church and counselors is working really well because Ben has wanted to make the change. It appears to be real and not just surface.

Lisa said to tell you that she is excited to be returning to Shreveport on September 30 for an extended stay with Ben - open-ended. She will leave the children here with Mom and I. She is sad to barely miss the chance of seeing Hollie and Gracie . . . and , oh yeah, what's that guys name? . . . oh yeah - Luke.

Ben has not had any success in being transferred to Hill Air Force Base. So, he has applied for two openings as a recruiter! One is in Provo - especially a yuck. The other is in Layton. He does not know if it will work or not, but even though he does not like the idea of being a recruiter, but he is anxious to regroup their family close to home (for support and help as needed). He is not excited about returning to Utah, but he is more excited to put the family together again where others (family) can help them. We hope and pray it will all work out just right for them.

We continue with serious problems with Anjelica stealing many things including food, insulin and needles, and Nancy's glasses (we found Nancy's glasses in Anjelica's backpack the day after Nancy had picked up her new set of glasses!!) There are many other things missing that are most likely because of her. It is difficult but we will keep trying. She is becoming quite mean and insolent. Mom is an angel in her support of me as we handle the problems. I have to go to April's class now so I will tell you more at another time about the spiritual support we are feeling through this problem/ordeal.

Tino is doing really well with online home school, seminary and marching band at SkyView High School, and concert band at North Cache 8th-9th Center.

Gotta go. Love your blogs. Chau. Daddy Bones
